Buffy continues to take good care of her lone chick. They cutely sleep together even though Lucky now pops her head out to see the world around her.
And we’ve started letting these two out to hang out with the big girls during the day.
Here are the big girls coming to meet Lucky for the first time.
Lucky is doing great pasturing with the big birds during the day and is way more capable at a younger age than chicks that we have raised from day old birds and brooded ourselves. We have some more day-old layers coming mid June but we definitely look forward to the next time we have a broody bird.
