I’ve read that turkeys oftentimes stop bothering to use a coop, or the provided roost. We seem to have reached that stage. Starting a week ago or so, we now find them resting atop the poultry run gate at chicken bedtime, with no interest in going into the coop.
We tried encouraging them in, and while it’s amusing to watch Amy chase them around in the dark with a rake, it seems to be ultimately futile.
So our turkeys will slumber al fresco. So be it.
