We’re finding surprise reptiles all over the place.
While mowing the weeds in the area where a backyard might go, I found this turtle, fortunately unfazed by the 46″ of spinning steel blades that had just passed over him: 
Nora was quite curious, but very tentative in touching the turtle: 
And then while my Dad and I were salvaging some old metal roofing that came with the place for use in the goat’s range shelter, we found these little guys. We’re pretty sure they’re eastern hognose snakes:
